Legacy Meets Cutting-Edge Technology.
Honoring the Past. Powering the Future.
Chris Van Meter, son of Nor-Com founder Dan Van Meter, grew up immersed in the world of AV and IT solutions. Learning the trade firsthand at Nor-Com, Chris gained the experience and expertise that would become the foundation for GRAVITY Technology Solutions. Today, Chris carries forward that legacy of innovation, building GRAVITY into a company that delivers smarter, cutting-edge technology solutions while honoring the values and expertise he learned from Nor-Com.
In 1982, during an installation for President Ronald Reagan on the West Coast, Dan was encouraged by members of the President’s cabinet to consider a name change. They believed “Northern Kentucky Communications” tied the company too closely to a single location. That’s when the name Nor-Com was born—a name that reflects both its roots and its future.
Over the decades, Nor-Com grew into one of Cincinnati’s largest AV workforces, serving organizations of all sizes across the U.S. Under Dan’s leadership, the company became known not only for technical excellence, but also for innovation, integrity, and a commitment to building long-lasting relationships. Dan himself was a proud Air Force veteran, a graduate with an Electronic Engineering degree, a Certified Technology Specialist–Design (CTS-D), and one of the original founders of both NSCA and the USAV Group.
Dan’s passion for technology, his strong work ethic, and his vision helped shape Nor-Com into a trusted leader in audiovisual, communication, and integration solutions. His legacy continues to influence how we serve our customers today—with dedication, discipline, and heart.
